Scott attended the Dreyfoos School of the Arts, studying violin performance and music theory. He has been playing violin since childhood, starting with the Suzuki method at seven and later studying with Thomas Tsaggaris, Julliard violinist, co-founder and first conductor of the Palm Beach Symphony. He is formally trained in classical music, and has also performed with a number of bands and projects, theatrical performances, as well as symphonies and chamber groups. He has a background in composition, improvisation, and is familiar with a variety of genres. He is currently enrolled in a Suzuki teacher certification program, and works with kindergartners and first graders through the Portland Suzuki Project. "I enjoy working with students' natural enthusiasm, helping to cultivate their skill while they follow their individual interests," Scott says. "I believe in teaching good technique as a means to tap into creative expression." |
