Paul Cameron is a drummer, guitarist and songwriter from eastern Illinois.
With a background of studio drumming in the midwest and in Portland, he now focuses on teaching and writing, playing with the band Y La Bamba, and working as a composer and instrumentalist for upcoming collaborations with a chamber choir from the Juilliard School. As a drumset instructor, he distills his own clinical approach to technique and theory into an accessible format that centers around fun and positive lessons (after all, enjoyment is clinically shown to aid learning). Teaching hand and foot techniques that enable a broad range of speed and dynamics is a key focus, helping ease and control while laying the groundwork for diverse playing styles, from straightforward pop, to subtle jazz, to the fastest rock or metal. With experience in songwriting and arranging, he can help drummers find their voice in a band and collaborate more effectively with other musicians. |
