 { Connecting Communities Through Song

How do we connect? Makers and lovers of music are famously reclusive – walking to the beat of their own drum, perfecting a new tune alone until sunrise, plugged into headphones on the bus. Music is, however, a universal language that could bring communities together if only there were a place to share it.

Music Circles explores the way that group music lessons can break down socio-economic barriers in our community. The program begins with a guitar class, but plans for choir and drum circles are already spinning. Tuition from paying students helps to cover some of the cost for members of JOIN who are struggling to find a home and typically cannot afford, but would benefit from, community music classes.

It’s the most socially responsible way to develop your chops.

Alas for those that never sing, but die with all their music in them!
