Trombonist Michael Maier is a newcomer to the Portland area. He is widely in demand both as a performer, and as a music educator/chamber music clinician. Maier has performed in a variety of ensembles, including the Malaysian Philharmonic, the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, and the Florida Grand Opera. In 2007-2008 he was a fellow in the Zurich Opera’s Academy program. As a member of this program, he performed extensively with the Zurich Opera Orchestra. He earned his Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University and his Master of Music from The Juilliard School.
