J.T. Locke has recorded many cds with plenty of studio work and experience. He has been playing guitar, writing and arranging songs for 21 years. His music education comes from PCC Music program and M.I.T in Los Angeles. He has been recording, and performing music across the country for over 10 years and teaching professionally for 5 years, the last 3 years in Portland. He had worked in Artist Development at Gunite Records. Responsibilities include searching new talent. This is done by networking contacts through different club promoters and myspace, developing new talent in early stages so they can achieve their maximum potential, and promotions though internet and advertising. In the music business as well as working for a label, J.T. has been a promoter for Lockebomb Productions, promoter for national music talent and venues including Hard Rock Cafe, Cat Club and The Whisky. Duties included booking local talent and setting up events for the evenings and setting scheduled events for the clients. His many years of studio performing, recording, writing, promoting, and touring has given him an excellent amount of talent, creativity and experience in the music industry. J.T. has given private instruction and personal tutoring to students of all ages in rock/jazz/classical/blues and other styles. Levels included beginner-advanced. He has had great success with his Songwriting Class where he teaches students to develop their talents as a songwriter using layering/harmonies/vocal melodies and, finally, teaching students how to utilize their own ear for training. |
